Health = Beauty

So, I am on a mission! I want to start feeling healthier! Who doesn't right? I am on the constant search for quick healthy snacks to pack in my lunch and am working up to getting a gym membership. My apartment complex has a work out room, but it is only open when the management office is open (generally when I am at school and work :P) I went into 24 hour fitness to see what their prices are (since they are right down the street next to Safeway) It is only $20 to have access to that location! Completely doable!

Also I found this app for Android and iPhones called myfitnesspal. It is basically a calorie counter that you track all of your food and exorcise on. It also puts together all of the nutrition facts together of everything you eat!

If you have any good healthy recipes or fun workouts leave them in the comments below!

Have a happy healthy beautiful day!

Snowed in hair

My hair was looking kinda odd today so I decided to braid the front back. 3strand french to waterfall to regular 3 strand :) I left the other side down and just tossed some light hair spray in to add texture to the ends.

Sun and Sand

Another day snowed in lead to me playing with makeup :) I definitely need to do that more often!! lol

Snow Day!!

The trees got covered in ice :)

So-- I live in western Washington and snow days are very few and far between. This morning we actually got about 6 or 7 inches! AMAZING! My campus closed for the day so we all went outside and played in the snow !

My boyfriend(the one doing the throwing) and roommate/friend (the one being thrown) decided to be extra silly and fight a snowman--pile--thingy... And we made a shark! :D

Smith's Rosebud Salve Reveiw

On many occasions of walking through Sephora this little tin has caught my eye. I finally purchased it just under a month ago and have been using it at night before bed. I love the light rosy smell of this balm. It has a slick texture and feels very soothing (Unless you just age a lot of spicy food.. then it BURNS!) I have noticed an improvement in my lips since I started using this. When the salve is present on my lips I cannot feel edges of any dry flaky patches (for me this is a total rarity in the winter time)

On a scale of 1-5 I would give this a 4.
I may purchase again, but I will also keep searching for the perfect lip balm.

Nails of the Day!

So as you may have noticed, I have posted a lot of nail stuff. The thing is.. I don't really even like doing my nails that much! I have to paint mine regularly or I will bite them off :(

I am still trying to figure out how I want to do tutorials. This whole blog thing is a lot to think about!!

Here is what my nails have been over the past week! They are all polishes from Forever 21 and only cost $2.80 a piece!

The first week back to school went pretty well! I just got my English book in the mail yesterday and am still awaiting my Psych book. Oh! I also got The Hunger Games! I am very excited to read it, hopefully it doesn't take too long for me. I am a slow reader, but I will let you know what I think when I am finished with it :)

Target Haul

I love that this has a pump! So much more sanitary!!

As you can see: one is busted and it kind of got everywhere.. Oh well I am still excited :3
I went to target today because I am almost out of my foundation. I have been using Maybelline Fit Me foundation in shade 110 and I liked how my face looked, but not how it felt. I had to cake on powder in order for my skin to not feel greasy. It was making me go through powder ridiculously fast, and that just isn't good for my face -- or my wallet.

I was wondering the isles and saw one by Almay. It is the Clear Complexion makeup in shade 100 (Ivory). I tested it on my wrist and it blended perfectly! It also left no oily residue, it actually felt really nice! Now, I don't have acne.. or even acne prone skin, in fact I have relatively dry skin. So I am a little worried that this will dry my face out. The other Almay line didn't have a shade light enough for me (at least not at that store) I will get back to you all probably in a few weeks to see how I am reacting to it.

On my way out of the store I walked by a clearance rack and I spotted the E.L.F 100 color holiday pallet. I flipped a little because I had been eying it since it got to the store. The pallet was $15 at regular price and on sale for $8.50. I am SO excited to play with this! It was the last one and sadly one of the pink shadows was broken. I will be sure to post pictures of looks created with this :) So many pretty colors!

Fairy Dust Nails

Today I felt like rocking some lavender and glitter, so I polished my fingers with China Glaze in Light as Air and Sinful Colors in Opal Glitter. I am quite proud that I managed to not mess them up before I took a picture. I still messed them up putting my card in the card reader though! :P

This polish combination just makes me smile.

Also: my camera decided to be difficult. It took forever for it to pick up the glitter!!

Tomorrow is my first day back to school after winter break! I am not all that excited because all I have left are the academic classes :P Math, English, and Psych here I come!

Maybelline Mascaras Reveiw

Hello again!

I recently got two mascaras from Maybelline and thought I would post a review and some pictures!

The first one I picked up was Great Lash (Lots Of Lashes) in very black. This is one that I had never tried before. I have to say that I am impressed! The formula lengthens and separates lashes very well. The brush is wonderfully small, so it is quite easy to get every lash (especially those tiny short ones in the inner corner!) I would DEFINITELY purchase again and recommend it to all of you :)

The second that I grabbed is Lash Stiletto in brownish black (I meant to grab blackest black but I am pretty glad that I got this by mistake!) This is a second purchase of this mascara. I had gotten it when it first came out and loved it! After a while I somewhat forgot that it existed and kept on trying new things. This rose scented formula does add quite a bit of length but does not add as much drama as the advertisement suggests. I really like it for a more natural look. I do remember liking this mascara much better after it had dried up a little bit, so I will let you know if my opinion changes. I am undecided on purchasing again.

Makeup Storage

So, I figured that I would show you guys my Dollar Tree makeup storage. This is just the complete basic beginning to how I want my vanity to be. I literally just got the desk today from my sister Fiona. I will keep updating as I get improved stuff :)

The white bins are from the Dollar tree. The medium and large ones are 2 for a dollar and the small ones are 3 for a dollar. They work pretty well for what I have going on right now, especially for as little as $5 for relatively organized makeup.

This set up might not seem like much to many of you, but after YEARS of having all of my makeup in one box getting completely trashed, this is the most amazing thing ever.

Set up with everything put away.

With everything out.

Happy New Year!

Hello world! I am Shayna and one of my new years resolutions was to start a beauty blog. So here I am! At 4 in the morning on January 1st :) I am in love with the beauty industry and am a freshly graduated Cosmetologist. I look forward to taking the world by storm and sharing my experiences with all of you!
